Blend of the month
This Month’s Welcome Guest blend is a beautiful Indian blend from Kondadkan, a farm located in the lush jungle of Karnataka (Southern India).
This coffee delivers flavours of Milk Chocolate, Caramel and Dates. The sweetness and bold body creates the perfect brew for espresso lovers and for those who enjoy their coffee with milk.
ABOUT THE FARM:
Kondadkan was founded in 1890 by the British brothers W.L. Crawford and C.S. Crawford. It was later acquired by Mr. K S Vaidyanathan, who founded Sangameshwar Coffee Estate Ltd, pioneers of the specialty coffee in India. The estate is located along the Western Ghats of South India, in Chikmagalur District, where the landscape consists of a vast network of natural forests with a view of the backwaters of Lakholi Dam.
This region is blessed with the adequate rainfall during the year that, alongside with the major variations in temperatures between the summer and winter months, requires a careful method of coffee cultivation. Coffee is grown under major native trees for filter shade, a practice known as agroforestry, enhancing the flavour of the coffee, contributing in preserving the purity of the environment with utmost care being taken to protect natural, aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. These trees also contribute significantly to soil regeneration, creating an ideal environment for growing coffee.
