WELCOME TO THE
CHANGE PLEASE FOUNDATION
The Change Please Foundation is the charitable arm of Change Please and does the work alleviating homelessness.
The Change Please Foundation is funded by grants, the donations it receives, and the profits generated by the coffee company.
Our pioneering model puts employment first - our goal is to empower people to get back into the working world. We support people experiencing homelessness by training them to become baristas, supporting them with everything they need to turn their lives around – a living wage job, accommodation advice, therapy, bank account and onward employment opportunities.
In October 2021, we also launched a ground-breaking initiative called Driving for Change. We take repurposed iconic London double decker buses to key London Boroughs to provide lifesaving and essential services to the most vulnerable. These include access to general NHS and oral healthcare, a hairdresser, as well as financial inclusion, social support and much more. Our buses can and have also been a way for our guests to access the Change Please Barista Training Programme.

THE BARISTA TRAINING PROGRAMME
Our trainee’s journey’s start at our training academies in London or Manchester. Here they will learn every aspect of coffee making, from bean variation and roasting through to latte art and customer service. Our aim is to equip each trainee with the skills and experience they need to start a new career. We provide wrap around support (life admin, therapy, housing support and more) throughout the programme and beyond.

REFERRALS
Referral partners are the heart of our mission to end homelessness. Through shared goals and powerful collaboration, we're able to bring more people into the Change Please Barista Programme and help them lift themselves out of homelessness.
The Barista Training Programme is for people experiencing homelessness from a range of backgrounds, including Care Experienced / Seeking Refuge from Abuse / Hostel / Prison Leavers* / Sofa-Surfing / Supported Housing / Temporary Accommodation / Rent Arrears causing Risk of Homelessness.
Referrals are made via charity partners, government agencies such as JCP and Probation services and some NHS community services. We work closely with them to identify individuals who are willing and able to work. We have found that the sooner we assist someone experiencing homelessness, the quicker we can facilitate positive change in their situation.
