LEAD BARISTA TRAINER - SCOTLAND

LOCATION: Glasgow

2024 was a year of growth for Change Please, and we launched our first impact programme in Scotland.

The Lead Barista Trainer will be responsible for delivering exceptional coffee quality and outstanding customer service while fostering a positive, supportive environment for individuals facing homelessness as they train to become baristas. This role will manage daily café operations, uphold product and service standards, and actively lead in developing and mentoring new baristas. By combining hands-on barista expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to Change Please’s mission, the Lead Barista Trainer will ensure operational excellence and contribute to the growth and confidence of trainees, empowering them with skills for future employment.

LEAD DRIVER, DRIVING FOR CHANGE - ENGLAND

LOCATION: London

Driving for Change is a ground-breaking initiative run by the Change Please Foundation. We take repurposed iconic London double decker buses to key London Boroughs to provide lifesaving and essential services to the most vulnerable. The services our guests have access to include an NHS and oral healthcare nurses, a hairdresser, social support, digital and financial literacy training and inclusion, financial advice, support with employment and much more.

The Lead Driver ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Driving for Change by managing vehicle checks, fuelling, and charging routines, as well as supporting route planning and daily logistics.Acting as the main point of contact between the bus teams and the office, the Lead Driver streamlines communication, coordinates breakdown responses, and assists with service delivery on the ground.The role involves safeguarding the wellbeing of all onboard, managing crowd control, de-escalating tensions, and supporting clients with high needs. With a focus on safety, empathy, and operational efficiency, the Lead Driver contributes to improving mobile services and addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.

FREELANCE HAIRDRESSER / BARBER - ENGLAND

LOCATION: London

The Hairdresser / Barber provides basic hairdressing services to individuals experiencing homelessness, delivering support in our Driving for Change buses across various London locations. The Hairdresser / Barber will use their skills to help restore dignity, confidence, and a sense of self-worth to clients in need.

This role requires adaptability, empathy, and the ability to work in an unconventional setting alongside service support workers and other professionals. By creating a welcoming and supportive environment, the Hairdresser / Barber will contribute positively to the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals, helping them feel valued and respected as part of Change Please’s mission to deliver impactful community services.
