Each month, we open our doors to something new - a specialty guest coffee that brings fresh character, fresh flavour and a fresh perspective to your cup.
This month’s Welcome Guest brings us to the heart of Huila, Colombia - a region celebrated worldwide for its balance, brightness and natural sweetness.
“Los Amigos de Primavera” (Primavera Friends) is a beautifully expressive washed lot, combining Tabi, Castillo and Caturra varieties grown at 1,600–1,750 metres above sea level. The result is a cup that’s vibrant yet comforting, structured yet silky. Primavera Friends is a celebration of collaboration: small farms coming together to produce something greater than the sum of its parts.
This lot is made possible by 60–70 smallholder producers living in the towns of Tesalia and Teruel. Each family manages an average of just 2.5 hectares, carefully overseeing every stage of production, from picking to processing.
Huila’s landscape tells its own story. The region sits beneath the volcanic chain of Nevado del Huila, whose historic eruptions have enriched the soil for generations. Combined with high altitude and consistent climate, these conditions create coffees known for their clarity, sweetness and structure - qualities that have earned Huila its own designation of origin.
Expect notes of caramel, clementine and pear - a gentle citrus lift layered over soft sweetness and a rounded body. It’s the kind of coffee that feels approachable from the first sip, but reveals more as it cools: clean acidity, elegant fruit and a smooth, lingering finish.
