World Homeless Day 2024
Today is World Homeless Day and the final day of 10 Days For Change!
As we wrap up our "10 Days for Change" campaign, we hope you've gained insight into the vital work we do at Change Please in collaboration with our amazing partners, and why the fight against homelessness is so urgent.
We now invite our partners to join us in signing the Crisis Homelessness Covenant.
Developed by Crisis, alongside the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) and DLUHC (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities), the Homelessness Covenant is a pledge for employers to help prevent and end homelessness through inclusive and supportive employment practices. By signing, you commit to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion within your organisation, sending a strong message about the value and dignity of every individual.
As a signatory, our partners will access valuable resources and best practice guides, all while contributing to the collective effort to address the root causes of homelessness and support those affected.
Vicky Richards, Crisis Partnerships Manager
'As the Partnerships Manager for the Homelessness Covenant at Crisis, I’m excited to announce that Change Please has committed to signing the Pledges to the Homelessness Covenant. Not only does this reflect their dedication to addressing homelessness, but as an organisation providing training and employment opportunities for those experiencing homelessness, Change Please can also help other signatories deliver on their Pledges. By working with us, partners can be confident that they’ll be able to create inclusive employment pathways, fully aligning with the Covenant’s commitments. With Crisis’ expertise in understanding the challenges of homelessness and Change Please’s innovative employability model, together we can ensure that organisations are ready to support people into meaningful work and end homelessness'

"We are incredibly excited to partner with Crisis as part of the Homelessness Covenant. Created with the DWP and DLUHC, the Covenant is a commitment organisations can make that demonstrates a holistic commitment to tackling homelessness. By signing up, employers demonstrate a commitment to creating supportive and inclusive workplaces, with the policies and practices to support people who have experienced, or are at risk of, homelessness.
Change Please’ innovative model of barista & hospitality training for those experiencing homelessness is fuelled by our incredible commercial partners, with 100% of our profits from the coffee sales going into our mission. By buying our coffee, our partners are already demonstrating a commitment to the mission of ending homelessness. By augmenting the Change Please Barista training model with the wealth of knowledge, expertise and support that Crisis can provide signatories of the covenant, we are confident we can create a more streamlined process for our trainees into employment and can help our partners ensure they have the most inclusive and supportive workplace possible … and it all starts with the coffee!"
