Driving for Change
We are excited to announce a life changing project to help support the vulnerable homeless, and the estimated 130,000 households made homeless by the Covid-19 pandemic. Launching in line with World Homeless Day 2021 in October, Change Please will join forces with sponsors HSBC UK, Colgate and sub-sponsor Mastercard to launch three London buses that will be repurposed to provide support and assistance for those experiencing homelessness.
The initiative, named Driving For Change is an innovative and disruptive approach to tackling homelessness, and will bring direct intervention for those in need. Rough sleepers will be given first-hand access to GP consultations, a mobile dentist, showers and haircuts on board, all of which will be valued services for vulnerable homeless people.
Founder of Change Please, Cemal Ezel said: “We are thrilled to take this next step in tackling the homelessness crisis in England and the new project in October will help us reach those in need throughout the capital. At Change Please we believe in sustainable approaches to ending homelessness, and Driving For Change will give the most vulnerable people the opportunity to access crucial services which can guide and support them in changing their lives long-term. We hope to take the project nationwide and then internationally to achieve maximum impact; discussions around Paris and Los Angeles have already begun.”
Driving For Change has been made possible by you continuing to buy Change Please coffee, as 100% of profits from the coffee business goes towards financing charitable activities. The October roll-out will see Driving For Change run for a minimum of two years depending on funding and sponsors in London.
Thank you.
