Mió is situated in the municipality of Monte Santo de Minas, 300km north of Sao Paulo. Their journey began in the early 1930s after buying a small plot of land and selling coffee on the local market. Almost 100 years later the farm now spans a total of 1,589 hectares.

About a third of the land is dedicated to the coffee processing and milling facilities, along with some picturesque pastures and a eucalyptus tree plantation, which attracts bees. The remaining land is split equally between vibrant coffee trees and a lush native forest reserve. Blessed with abundant spring water, Mió's role goes beyond simply preserving the water flow in the area—they are also committed to enhancing the water quality, ensuring the estate and surrounding area continues to thrive.
