Barista Training Programme Launches in Scotland
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first impact program in Scotland! 🏴
We will offer transformative training and employment opportunities to those experiencing homelessness in Glasgow, supported by partnerships with the Wise Group, Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, and Bethany Christian Trust.
The training will take place at the Templeton Business Centre in Glasgow, a hub of innovation and community engagement. In addition to barista training, the program includes specialised courses on customer service excellence and a CV writing workshop, facilitated by volunteers from the Wise Group.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will have the opportunity to secure paid placements with Change Please partners, which include David Lloyd Clubs, Everyman, BT Group, Lexington Catering, and Sodexo
We would like to give special thanks to ‘We Love Coffee’ who have donated state-of-the-art coffee carts that will be used during the training, enabling trainees to gain practical, hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
“The Wise Group is excited to participate in the Scottish launch of Change Please’s Barista Training Program. We’re honoured to support this inspiring initiative, which uplifts individuals facing homelessness by equipping them with valuable skills and experience for sustainable employment. This impactful program aligns with The Wise Group's mission of helping lift people out of poverty and transform lives, and we are proud to be part of it.” Chris Brown Operations Manager at The Wise Group
"This is a ground-breaking moment for Change Please as we expand our reach into Scotland. By collaborating with local partners, we are able to provide comprehensive support that addresses not just immediate employment needs but also long-term career aspirations.” - Ken Love, Managing Director at Change Please.
This launch marks the expansion of our Impact Program to a seventh city in the UK and Ireland. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our customers and partners!
