Chip in and help rough sleepers this winter

Change Please launched their partnership with BillyChip on World Homeless Day (10th October), raising awareness of the needs of the homeless community, who will struggle over the winter months. Chip tokens can now be purchased from Change Please sites and gifted to rough sleepers as an alternative to cash - these can then be exchanged at participating shops and takeaways for food and hot drinks.

Billy Chip was a natural partner for Change Please and our relationship has provided a new way to reach members of the homeless community. As a result, we’re now able to present our training programme to those who submit chips, and can hopefully bring positive change to their circumstances.

So far, we’ve sold nearly 100 chips through our Change Please Coffee retail sites at Crown Place, Elephant Park and Timber Lodge. Over the next couple of months, we plan to increase these sites.

“Being able to offer BillyChips at our sites gives the public the opportunity to effectively help rough sleepers. Many people are uncomfortable giving out cash, and BillyChip removes that issue, encouraging people to give back.’’ - Cemal, CEO & Founder of Change Please.

To purchase a BillyChip, please pop into our retail site, and, for just £2, you can gift one to a rough sleeper. Your small gesture will provide a warm beverage or meal this winter and, hopefully, a fresh start for someone.
